Transcension / Immanence
This project is made up of two versions of a painting, one of oil pastel and another of chalk pastel. They tell the story of fairy tale The Shadow by Hans Christian Andersen. I made them as an extension of my university project, which is about implementing fairy tales in dementia education, as well as an experiment with new materials.

The concept of transcend and immanence is inspired by another book however, The Nameless City by H.P. Lovecraft. It started as a sketch model (see below) that resembles the description of the portal in the book, the idea of not being able to see or understand the path one is on, with it only understood and visible once you crossed the threshold.
